LeeKitson
Homes is a multi- generational family business that has
been building homes in West Michigan since 1971. Lee
founded the company and works on sales and design. Karen, Lee’s wife, serves as
treasurer and has helped Lee build the company. Alan is President and sales manager and Aaron is the purchasing and construction manager
Lee was a founding member of theGrand Rapids HBA Green Building Program in 1999. In 2002 this program became Green Built Grand Rapids and Lee served as its President through 2004. He served as President of the Michigan Association of Homebuilders in 2006 and, in that capacity, created a task force to develop Green Built Michigan. In 2004/5 he served on a 3 member NAHB Advisory Group which, with a wide variety of stakeholder groups, developed The NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines. In 2005 he chaired the NAHB Committee which developed the green building training course for Certified Green Professionals. In 2007 Lee was inducted into the Michigan Construction Industry Hall of Fame for contributions to his community, the building industry, and the development and promotion of green building. In 2008 he was awarded the Green Builder Advocate of the Year Award by the NAHB.
Alan has served as president of the GRHBA Sales and Marketing Council, he is a Certified Green Professional and is a licensed realtor,
Aaron served as President of the GRHBA in 2005, he is a Certified Green Professional, a Certified Graduate Builder, and he currently serves on the Board Of Directors of Home Repair Services, a non-profit corporation dedicated to helping low income families with home improvements and energy savings.
